£2.50 a day will fund Dr Chuga

£13. 00 a day funds 2 hot meals for up to 75 children,
the 3 Teacher’s and the 2 cooks’ salary

£50 a week funds the running costs of the Health Clinic

£200 will pay for the running costs of the clinic for a month

£2,500 will pay for the running costs of the clinic for a whole year

Consultations are free, medicines are paid for in summer when there is work. The winters are severe. Free medicines and transport is funded for the needy.

Funds are being raised for both the clinic and the school in Rigul, Tibet

What money is needed now?

Clinic:

to pay for the essential clinic staff of Dr Chuga  and an assistant for Dr Chuga. When we have raised enough money for each member of staff for that year then the remainder will go towards the day to day running costs of the clinic, including free transport for the needy, and any repairs and improvements to the buildings and equipment.

School:

to pay the staff of the teachers and cooks and to provide basic education to all children, including two hot meals per day for each child.  The buildings of the school also require ongoing maintenance in addition to living accommodation for the teaching staff.

The Ling Gesar School: The school and the small health station are entirely dependent on donations. To help maintain and improve the education and health facilities, Ringu Tulku Rinpoche has also asked Rigul Trust to help fund these projects.

The School - funds are needed for:     

• The Teachers: a head-master, teachers for mathematics, science, Tibetan, Hindi, English.
• The cost of the teacher’s salaries was £2,900 for 2007.
• Books: Stationery; Educational Equipment.
• The preservation of the buildings.  

The Health Station - funds are needed for the:

• Doctor - who visits once a month for a day – his salary in 2007 was £225
• Medicines -are given free to the children and the elderly, these cost £259 for 2007
• Much needed basic medical equipment
• Nurse - who works hard in challenging circumstances

The health station is available to the poor Indian people as well as the Tibetans, and they can see the doctor and get free medicines. All this is what needs to be maintained.      

Future plans - what is also needed is:

1 A doctor to visit more often
2 A dentist to visit
3 More classrooms; in 3 years, the number of children attending has doubled
4 Facilities for secondary education

5 More educational and health equipment
